Fee schedule is based on amount of time spent and is analogous to retainer fees given to lawyers for their services.
Online consultations are mainly meant for patients who have never been seen in our office. We regularly receive numerous emails from people for ENT medical advice. Due to this deluge of emails from people who have never been seen in our office, we have instituted a fee schedule as we can't possibly respond to everyone.
Also, based on WHAT the complaint is, we may decline to provide any advice due to medico-legal liability concerns.
What is an online consultation? It is when you are having a medical problem for which you have questions you want answered.
Generic Fee Schedule
Should the physician decide to accept your request for a given online consultation, you will be charged only ONCE. Please be aware that though we respond to all emails from established patients, we reject ~30% of all emails received from patients never seen in our office. Note that this fee covers only ONE consultation. Once we receive the online request, we will reply with a fee amount depending on the complexity of the problem. If the fee is acceptable, you will be given instructions on how to pay via an invoice from Paypal.com. If the fee is unacceptable, you are welcome to decline.
Please note that online consultation request must be made via email first. We will not accept requests by phone.

Straightforward questions such as recommendations for a local physician for a given medical problem (if you live far from our office), test result interpretation, etc. |

Single problem of minimal complexity. For example, such problem may be how to go about getting tested for allergies, how does treatment with allergy drops work, Zenker's Diverticulum, etc. |

1 or 2 problems of moderate complexity. For example, workup for chronic cough or lump sensation in the throat when already completed a few tests and medication trials. |
$400+ |
Multiple problems or problem of high complexity. For example, symptoms involving the ear, nose, and throat that has persisted for months to years that has not responded to treatments provided by several physicians. Generally, if you have seen multiple physicians for your problem, you will fall into this category. |
This online consultation does NOT establish a patient-physician relationship until an actual physician visit occurs. An online consultation should in NO way replace an actual physician visit. This service is purely to provide advice to complement any treatment course already laid out by your regular physician.
After payment, the physician will respond by email and answer any questions you may have. Given the limitations of not seeing in person, only advice will be provided as best as possible.
PLEASE keep in mind that without an actual physician visit, NO prescriptions, NO studies, NO orders of any kind can be provided. These will have to be requested by you to a physcian you have already seen.
