Dear Dr. Chang,

I want to thank you so much for your kindness and professionalism during my ESD procedure.  Everyone in your office and at the hospital was so kind and helpful.  The city of Warrenton is very pleasant and we enjoyed our short stay in the area. The procedure has seemed to work wonders for me.  It is so great to be able to eat and not feel like I have a golf ball stuck in my throat.  It was definitely worth driving four and a half hours from West Virginia to have you do the procedure.  I feel very lucky that my son, who lives in Houston, Texas, saw your website and insisted that I contact you. I would like to thank you, your staff, and the staff of Fauquier Hospital for making my experience a very pleasant one. Happiness to all.

Sincerely,

- Christine (West Virginia) 10/26/10

Hi Dr. Chang, this is a fan letter! I am using your audio and video to teach my graduate Voice Disorers course. I have 44 students in Communication Disorders, all of whom will soon graduate as speech-language pathologists. I just wanted to send you a shout out and thank you.

Best,

- Shari (New York) 2/23/10

Though I had hoped for a more encouraging result, I am very grateful for the expeditious manner in which my request for consultation was handled.

Both my wife and I appreciate the courtesy, promptness and professionalism we were accorded in your office and The Fauquier Hospital, Dept. of Radiology. Dr. Wargo -- along with Dr. Chang -- has been added to our list of people to admire.

I sincerely thank you for your immediate response and your published article/info on the web. It has given me a little bit of hope again.

Thanks for all you do.

My name is Brian from Tampa, Florida and I wanted to give you and your support staff a huge THANK YOU for the mass amount of invaluable information you have on your ENT site.

I had previously visited my ENT several times for a minor eustachian tube dysfunction. I was prescribed Nasacort to help relieve the pressure. My ENT had not given me any particular instruction for the proper insertion angle of the nasal spray into the nose. My ENT also did not instruct me as to the importance of popping the ears 15-20 times a day in order to equalize, as well as helping to push the nasal spray into the eustachian tubes.

I wanted to thank you so much for allowing people from other parts of the country to utilize your website as a medical resource for ENT information that may not be available to them by any other means.

Again, thank you.

- Brian (Florida) 11/27/09

Thanks so much for taking our barotrauma case urgently from the Wound Center. . . that is a tremendous help, and you being able to help us out so quickly is a huge asset to the program. Your receptionist was very accommodating and efficient when I called for help. Thanks again so much.

- Bill (Virginia) 11/19/09

I wanted to give you an update since we last communicated a few months ago. I want to thank you so very much for placing me in the right direction! I can't say enough good things about you. I told Dr. Hardy (ENT) and Dr. Ryan Madaneck all about you. Dr. Madaneck wants to get in touch with you. He has dealt with about 70 folks with sensory neuropathic cough since he has been in NC. In fact, he is (or will be) doing some type of study. I know he also gives talks on the subject to those in the medical profession. Anyway, just wanted to give you an update. I hope to write you again one day and let you know that I am totally cough-free. Wow -- what a blessing. Thank you for being such a wonderful human being and a passionate doctor. Thank you ever so much --- EVER so much. I will be eternally grateful to you... Blessings and a hug

- Gloria (From Wilmington, NC) 6/16/09

This has been a very exciting, and completely unexpected experience. I am extremely grateful to you and if there is ever anything I can do to be of assistance, just let me know. Your advice and top notch team have already helped me more than I cam express, and I would be delighted to share with my story with anyone who it might help. With warmest good wishes and sincerest thanks!

While doing some research, I came across the excellent videos on your web site. They are by far the best I have seen... As I said, these videos are well done and you are to be congratulated.

Just wanted to thank you for taking the time to answer all the questions my husband and I had about the sleep apnea surgery. We really appreciated your patience.

- Christine (From Woodbridge, VA) 12/9/08

Thank you so much for providing surgery for me. After all the years of worry, it was such a relief to find your website and an ABC method of getting rid of my swallowing problems. I will be forever grateful to you. With your care and concern, you and all those who work with you almost made a pleasant experience out of a situation that seemed very frightening to me. You were certainly an answer to my prayers.

- Kristin (From Salisbury, MD) 11/20/08

My father continues to have very limited discomfort following the ESD procedure. Honestly, I think most of his current discomfort probably came from all the talking he did during our trip back to NY. If you were to know my father you would know that his talking so much is very unusual. Hence, I attribute this talkative nature to the fact that a great weight was lifted from his back thanks to you. So, I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know how exceptional your care for my father was during our recent trip to see you. From the first email I sent to the hand shake goodbye, my father and I could not have been happier or more pleased with everything that you had done for us.

Thank you for being so personable. My father was very nervous in regards to having this procedure. Your down to earth personality and approach put my father at ease from day #1. We knew that, even though there may be a chance that the procedure could not be accomplished, we definitely made the right decision by coming to you. So thanks for your extra effort during surgery in order to make this procedure a success! You are truly an asset to Fauquier Health as well as the medical community as a whole and I honestly believe I would be typing this same email even if you were unable to complete the procedure.

Thanks again to all for your hospitality and I hope nothing but the best for your continued success both professionally and personally.

- Ryan (From Buffalo, NY) 9/25/08

For the very first time in 3 1/2 years I feel terrific -- I have my life back and my husband can finally sleep and has a partner again helping around our farm. I can't begin to express my gratitude.

- Glory (From North Carolina) 8/18/08

Happy to report everything is great after surgery.... everything was great. I would call it a very successful surgery. I really couldn't have asked for a better outcome. All the previous symptoms are gone!!! Again, thank you for your personal care during the 3 days in Warrenton. Really happy I found you. Thanks again.

- Robert (From Pennsylvannia) 7/17/08

I'd like to give a word of thanks for some very helpful information I got off of your website. The page is called "Correct use of nasal sprays for eustachian tube dysfunction". You might find my case useful for your patients. Here is my story: I am a 46 year old male and have never had allergy problems or Eustachian tube problems until last spring. I got an ear infection last march and took an antibiotic which took it away. What remained is that my left Eustachian tube was blocked and couldn't hear very well. I went to several doctors who all told me to take Sudafed, etc. It eventually cleared up in June. I was hoping it was a one time thing, but no such luck. This spring the same ear closed up again. I didn't have any infection this year. I started taking Sudafed and another decongestant and did that for about a month with no improvement. I tried several other things just in case, but nothing helped. I could hear the fluid sloshing around but couldn't get rid of it. I happened on your website and saw the page referred to above. I had some leftover Nasonex so put that in immediately. The next morning I bought some generic brand Afrin. I sprayed it at the angle your website suggested and popped my ears by blowing and holding my nose several times over the next 3-4 hours at which time it opened up. It has been open since then which has been about 3 weeks. It seems like this was exactly what I needed and no doctor or any of the advice givers told me this. I am very glad I found your website and I hope that this technique will serve me well the rest of my life. I haven't heard of anyone else having conditions quite like me. I thought you might be interested in hearing this.

- John (From Delaware) 4/25/08

You went above and beyond and for that, I'll always be grateful. Again, Thanks.

- Donna 4/11/08

Thanks for great information on your website. It helped a lot. I am trying to research whether LPR can cause burning and fluid problems. If I lived closer, I would come see you. Thanks again!

- Teresa 4/21/08

My name is Julie and I read your article on "The Chronic Cough". It was like reading my very life before my eyes! I had Bronchitis about 12 years ago which left me with a cough. I have had every test known and no one can explain this cough. Until I read your article! Makes such perfect sense to me. I sent your article to my Doctor ...

- Monica 4/9/08

I can’t thank you enough for everything. It means a lot to have a doctor who takes such a personal interest in their patients well being. I truly appreciate everything that you’ve done to get us through this.

- Donna 4/8/08

I wanted to let you know that I TRULY appreciate all that you do as a physician. This comes from my direct experience as both a patient, and a colleague.

- Donna 3/28/08

I very much enjoyed reading about you online. I had done a search on vocal strain and throat pain and related things like TMJ and I found your information there helpful.

- Beth 1/31/08

I appreciated the clear and concise discussion of laryngeal sensory neuropathy on your site. The web site is great. How I wish your practice was located in Tucson, Arizona!

- Ana 1/14/08

I write with excellent news! I took my first pill of Amitriptyline (10mg) at 5pm on Monday, Oct 29. By the very next day - my coughing had been reduced, by my estimate, 80%. I continue to have 3-4 minor coughing attacks each day - but the frequency and duration are greatly curtailed. The change has been simply remarkable!!! and I can't thank you enough!!!

- Karen 11/4/07

I just found your page on chronic cough under your website. I cannot believe that this might be the answer I have been waiting for! I have had a chronic cough for almost 17 years! I have been through so many tests and treatments with absolutely NO relief. Nothing has ever helped to stop the cough ... is the first time in years and years that I feel hopeful this cough may not be with me for the rest of my life.

- Alicia 9/13/07

Thanks a lot for your reply. I was really so confused and you really helped me... thanks again!

- Ahmed 8/14/07

Your website was very informative about the different conditions of throat.
